Engagements

I offer unique, tailored educational experiences in sustainable living, urbanism, and ecopsychology in selected locations throughout Europe. I like to help people experience first hand how the environment shapes the way we act, percieve and live. Through walking tours, somatic and contemplative practice, seminars, and experiential projects, we become intimate with our experience of self in relation to place. Courses can be single days, or up to several weeks.

Here are a few examples of programs I offer:

.

Sustainable Urbanism in Weimar.

Weimar is a small walkable town with its roots in the medieval period. We walk the streets, sit in cafes, hike out through the suburbs and into rural Thuringia. In this course, we focus on central elements in urbanism in real life. Through day trips combined with exploration of urban theory, we make real concepts such as the medieval city, walkability, sprawl, the rational city, and the transect, and explore how the city can support sustainable lifestyles.

.

.

Ecopsychology in the Built and Natural Environment.

In this course, we go deeply into exploration of the self in the environment, through meditative, awareness, critical and connective excercises in the context of wild nature, as well as various distinct types of built environment, such as the organic medieval village, the planned town, and the post-modern city. Locations include Amsterdam, Hamburg, and Weimar.
